Duties and responsibilities:

 Dentist is typically responsible for educating patients on oral healthcare; examining teeth and diagnosing patients' dental conditions by using tools such as x-rays;  meet with patients in their office routinely and remove tooth decay, fill cavities, repair teeth, and treat gum diseases. Use masks, gloves and safety glasses to protect themselves and their patients from infectious diseases. Administer anesthetics to limit the amount of pain experienced by patients during procedures.  Formulate plan of treatment for patient's teeth and mouth tissue. Use air turbine and hand instruments, dental appliances and surgical implements. Advise and instruct patients regarding preventive dental care, the causes and treatment of dental problems, and oral health care services.

Education:

 For one good education the people that want to apply at t the career of dentist need to obtaining a dentistry education is to apply to dental school. The ADA's website has a list of all accredited dental schools in the U.S. The application process differs from school to school. Commonly, schools require an application and fee to be submitted along with transcripts and letters of recommendation. After these have been approved, schools will set up interviews with student candidates.

Dental school consists of classroom, clinical and laboratory courses. Courses include microbiology, physiology, anatomy, infectious disease, immunology and pharmacology. Students also learn about dental ethics, patient care, general dentistry, operative dentistry, dental procedures, clinical diagnosis and the operation of dental equipment.
